Won first place in Private Schools, Group 3, in the Ministry of Education (MOE) University Evaluation. All 21 departments passed the evaluation.
Teaching and Research Abilities Grow by Leaps and Bounds
The College has won the MOE Excellence in Teaching University award four years running. The total amount of the award is more than NT$254 million, ranking first among new universities. The previous year the College's 359 first rank papers ranked them among the top 25 of Taiwan's 160 universities. Each year for the last four years the college's instructors have won the National Science Council's (NSC) Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archive Program (TELDAP) integrated research project.
The Board of Directors Complete Support in Creating a Renowned School of Design
The Board has fully funded and given its complete support to the enhancement of the College of Design as a key point of development for the university. It supports recruitment of local and international scholars of repute along with leading industrial designers to create a top design school.
The Elegant Art on Campus won the Taiwan Real Estate Excellent Award
The Creative Design Building is one of Greater Taichung's ten best buildings. Built in Greco-Roman style, it houses Rodin's The Thinker and the Nike of Samothrace and the future Tadao Ando Art and Design Building, providing the rich blend of artistic and humanities necessary to nurture creative minds.
The Innovative Designs of Our Students Win Award after Award
The excellent design work of our students has garnered the Oscar of the design world, the coveted German iF and Red Dot Design awards. The University has specially established a Design and Invention Center, to provide generous bonuses to encourage international awards, inventions, patents and creativity. Further, the ITRI U19 Creativity Award competition, and participated in the International Invention Innovation & Technology Exhibition ITEX in Malaysia, winning 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and a special award, and were received by President Ma, earning their first $100 million pot of gold!
The Establishment of a PhD Program Has Raised Academic Standards
The College's Digital Media Design program offers both Masters and PhD degrees. The PhD program is divided into the Digital Media track, the Creative Design track. The Creative Design track offers the three majors of fashion, product, and visual communication design, offering students an authentic graduate path. Outstanding instructors will be recruited to join our ranks and enhance academic standards.
